Icecream Video Converter is a free video software that lets you easily convert your video files into different formats. Developed by Icecream Apps, this multimedia program has a user-friendly interface for both beginners and advanced users and allows for offline file conversion whenever.

Similar to other video converter software, Icecream Video Converter offers a wide variety of handy features that are pretty straightforward in their use and function. Not only does it give you different options for conversion, but it also comes with video-editing tools so you don’t have to use another program.

Straightforward conversions

Icecream Video Converter’s main functionality is its video converter capability, offering you both single and bulk conversions. It supports all of the most popular file media formats: MP4, MOV, AVI, WEBM, MKV, MPEG, and MP3—allowing you to even convert from video to audio. It also expands your options down to the resolution and quality you want to convert to, although not all of the output formats have the same resolution choices available. You have options like 4K, HD, “Same as original”, and “auto” for the quality.

Aside from that, you can set other actions for the conversion to perform. The video’s audio can be extracted and exported as a file or you can exclude it and simply mute the output video. You can also trim the video file down to whatever length you want and add subtitles and watermarks to it. Once you’re satisfied, you can start the conversion and even add a file to be converted to the program’s queue without disrupting the current process. This application even compresses your files.

Easy to understand

Immediately after launch, you’ll find that Icecream Video Converter has no built-in tutorial to point out the various tools at your disposal—although it’s actually not too hard to master since the interface is quite user-friendly. The empty workspace will always display the words “Add files here” and “Or drag & drop here”, pointing to the “Add File” button at the top of the screen. Once added, you can select your format, resolution, quality, and any other setting of choice and start converting. 

For the bulk conversion, simply add several files to the workspace, then go to the bottom of the screen to choose your output settings. There’s another “Convert” button there that displays how many files will be converted. Take note, however, that this has no bulk editing function so you must manually edit each file. You can find the Action button down there, though, which lets you choose what the program will do after converting, such as closing itself or enabling the PC’s Sleep Mode.

Additionally, the software lets you choose the output file folder location, as well as switch the workspace between the Queue and the History section where past conversions can be viewed. The settings also include a Dark Mode so the interface is easier on the eyes. The only real issue to be found here is that some grammatical errors are in the interface’s text, but that’s about it.

All in all, Icecream Video Converter is a great program to have if you want a handy and easy-to-use video converter. It not only has bulk conversion but also lets you edit video files beforehand. Plus, it has various output options and other useful features like PC action after conversions and Dark Mode—all at zero cost.
